Shap Shap ("we", "us", "our") operates the Shap Shap rider app and the Shap Shap Driver app (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you sign up, we collect your name, phone number, email address, and profile photo (if provided via Google Sign-In or entered manually).
Location Information
We collect precise location data while you use the app to show nearby drivers, calculate routes and fares, and track rides in progress. The Shap Shap Driver app also collects location data in the background while a driver is online or on an active trip, so riders can see accurate pickup and arrival times, and so trip routes can be recorded accurately even if the app is not in the foreground.
Ride and Delivery Information
We collect details about the rides, deliveries, and intercity trips you request or complete, including pickup and drop-off locations, trip time, distance, and fare.
Driver Information
If you register as a driver, we additionally collect vehicle details and identity/verification documents required to approve you to drive on the platform.
Payment Information
We collect information about your selected payment method (such as cash, card, or in-app wallet balance) and transaction history. Card payment details are processed by our payment providers and are not stored on our own servers.
Device and Usage Information
We automatically collect device information (such as device model, operating system, and app version), log data, crash reports, and push notification tokens to keep the Services running reliably and to send you notifications.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Services
- Match riders with nearby drivers and calculate fares and routes
- Process payments and maintain transaction records
- Send trip updates, receipts, promotional offers, and service notifications
- Verify driver identity and vehicle eligibility
- Improve, personalize, and troubleshoot the Services
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, or security issues

3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, which may collect information used to identify you:
- Google Firebase (Authentication, Analytics, Cloud Messaging, Firestore, Crashlytics) — for sign-in, push notifications, live location updates, and app stability monitoring
- Google Sign-In — for optional account authentication
- Google Maps — for maps, routing, and location display
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — for displaying advertisements within the app, which may use advertising identifiers
These providers have their own privacy policies governing the use of information they process on our behalf.
4. Data Sharing
We share ride and location information between riders and drivers only as needed to complete a trip (for example, a driver sees a rider's pickup location; a rider sees their driver's live location and vehicle details). We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Services (such as payment processors and cloud hosting providers), or when required by law.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You may update your account information within the app at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us using the details below, subject to any records we are legally required to retain.
You can control location permissions (including background location) at any time through your device settings, though this may limit or disable core features of the Services.
7. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
